Install

You need to add the R&W extension to your browser. Visit the Chrome Web Store and add the extension to your browser, if you haven't already.

Read & Write is a Chrome Extension, developed by Texthelp (texthelp.com)

First Glance

Once installed, you might not notice any change. You will receive a new button in your browser, , but it doesn't do anything (yet)!

Head to a website with a generous amount of text - like this one (don't worry, it's a news article). Now click the button you should get the following toolbar:

This is the default Read&Write toolbar. We will take a look at all the functions.

I didn't get the toolbar! The first time you use R&W, you have to give it permission to run in your Google account. These are standard warnings that it will have access to your Google Drive, etc. If you deny access, it will not work. If you are concerned about security or privacy - don't be. This is a very well-vetted program.
